I hate writing bios so here's the basic information.
I'm Melissa.
According to the butcher at the grocery store up the street, I am "too fine to be 29." I'm over 30 now. Hmph. I do this annoying thing where I make people guess my age if they ask and then I delight in the answers when the guesses range between 15 and 25. The person that guesses 15 can't possibly really think that, but it brings me joy nonetheless.I started this blog the summer after I appeared on MTV's Real World New Orleans.
I lived in LA for five years and in that time I worked on a show called Girls Behaving Badly on Oxygen. Fun and wonderful job. The show ran for a couple years and then got syndicated (yeah!) so randomly on weekdays you can see me on TV. Your mom probably really likes the show. My mom does anyway.
Then I met someone from New York named Justin Beck. Well, I had always known this someone but one day he became my boyfriend and now my husband and it just makes so much sense. He's awesome and can only be described as a Triple G – 50% gorgeous, 50% genius and 50% gangsta. Those are his words that he wanted to appear here, but I agree wholeheartedly.
So now I live in New York. A girlfriend once said to me, "Chase yo dreams, girl, chase yo dreams…" Her mind was crazy elevated at the time, but the sentiment was inspiring regardless. So here, in New York, I do just that which is to write and write and write.
